STATEMENT
Pamela Hill makes quilts to sleep with and to take comfort from. She designs and makes each quilt with consideration for durability and function as important as the appearance of the quilt. She creates dense textures through the intricate piecing of fabric; primarily pima cottons, linens, silks and rare African, Japanese and Indian traditional silks and cottons. The tradition of American Quilts is celebrated through the creation of new designs. In the newest of her quilts she utilizes hand guided longarm quilting to create dense textures. Battings are usually wool or cotton although a synthetic down can be used if needed. Each quilt is signed and dated. Most are washable.
While designed for utility the quilts are often used as art pieces for the wall in both private and public interior spaces.
Most of the work is custom so all sizes are possible.
