STATEMENT

Color is always my first inspiration. Music and the surrounding countryside become sources for my designs. I also enjoy reinterpreting all sorts of scientific concepts as metaphors for visual ideas.

I use mostly hand-dyed cotton fabrics. The dying process creates a visual texture to the fabric and makes the color choices nearly unlimited. I employ a style of cutting, sewing, and re-cutting the fabric - repeated many times until I have the desired shape and design. I finish my works with intricate hand quilting.

I enthusiastically try to create work that is beautiful, well crafted, and may be touched and enjoyed everyday. My work includes one-of-a-kind wall hangings, bed-sized quilts, and throw pillows. Commissions are welcome. Limited production pillows, tote bags, backpacks, and small bags are available wholesale and retail.
