STATEMENT

"Current events, reflected through social and political behaviors, and the dynamics of personal and family relationships interest me and are featured heavily in my art. My goal is to use my art to communicate the questions and encourage the viewer to address the questions that arise from these themes, rather than make pronouncements about them. I have found that people are drawn to the inherently warm and non-threatening qualities of fabric and quilts, which encourages them to confront issues and topics that they may otherwise prefer to avoid. The thematic content of my work includes both the humorous and the more troublesome, dysfunctional circumstances of everyday experiences. "
