My work includes one-of-a-kind wall hangings, quilts, and throw pillows. Color is always my first inspiration. Music and the surrounding countryside also become sources for my designs. I enjoy reinterpreting scientific concepts as metaphors for visual ideas. I use mostly hand-dyed cotton fabrics. The dying process creates a visual texture to the fabric and also makes the color choices nearly unlimited. I achieve the desired shape and design by cutting, sewing, and re-cutting the fabric many times. I create work that is beautiful and may be touched and enjoyed everyday.
